To apply for an eVisa to the US, applicants coming from eligible countries must complete the application form online and attach the necessary documents. Luckily enough, the ESTA application form is very fast and easy.

For clarity purposes, the application for an ESTA to the USA can be summarized in 3 basic steps:

1. Complete the online form with required data and upload necessary documents.
2. Cover the fee and confirm your payment.
3. Receive your approved visa to your inbox.

The required data you will be asked to provide when filling the online form is your personal details and passport information.

There are other few questions you will have to answer. These questions regard your health and security matters, and they are straightforward to answer.

It is highly advisable to use a valid credit or debit card when paying for the processing fee of the US ESTA. You can also pay the fee by choosing one of the other available payment methods, e.g., PayPal. Choose one the most convenient for you, cover the fee, and receive the confirmation number.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

Getting the requirements ready before applying for a visa to New Zealand is a wise idea because it helps save time. Prepare the following:

• A valid passport issued by a country taking part in the Visa Waiver Program (passport cannot expire for min. 6 months from the date of entry to the US).
• Most recent status of your employment (required only in some cases).

• If you are visiting the United States of America for study, work, or for any other purpose, unfortunately, an ESTA isn’t for you! What you’ll have to do is visit the US embassy in the country you reside in and obtain a regular visa according to your travel needs.
• ESTA to the USA is valid for entry into the United States by sea or air. When you arrive in the country, you must show both a valid ESTA and a valid passport.
• Your ESTA permit is linked digitally to your passport. If any data of your passport changes for any reason, e.g., because you renewed it or got lost, your ESTA becomes invalid. A new ESTA application will then be necessary to submit.
• Remember that the processing time may take up to 72 business hours. Submit your application min. 3 business days in advance.
• Every ESTA has a separate number and can be linked only with one passport, which means that only one traveler can be assigned to one ESTA.
• ESTA validity starts from the day of its issuance.
