Laos eVisa Types

Laos offers only one type of online visa, which is a tourist e-Visa. The visa functions as a single-entry authorization and serves all kinds of tourism-related activities to be performed during a single stay in Laos. The tourist Laos e-Visa also covers the transit purposes. All travelers who wish to travel through Laos when going to another country are required to obtain an eVisa in advance. They should apply for a tourist e-Visa to transit through Laos trouble-free.
The holder of e-Visa to Laos can stay for up to 1 month, while the validity of an e-Visa is 2 months starting from its approval date.

eVisa To Laos Validity

Once you’ve received your eVisa in PDF form, you can make your visit within 60 days from the date of its issuance. If you do not enter the country within 60 days of the prescribed time, your visa will become invalid and you will be denied entry to Laos.
The Tourist eVisa allows the holder to stay in Laos for 30 consecutive days. If your passport is lost, damaged, or expired, your eVisa will become invalid irrespective of its validity period.

  • Your visa application reviewing starts, and you will receive your approved eVisa at the given email address within 72 hours (3 working days).

    Important Information About eVisa To Laos

    • Irrespective of the age, each traveler visiting Laos must get an individual eVisa to be let into the country.
    • Making a transit stop in Laos also requires a tourist eVisa.
    • Lao eVisa is extendable, and if you wish to apply for its extension, the only possible time is when your visa is still valid. Contact the immigration authorities and fulfill the requirements to get an extension of your visa.
    • Laos eVisa is a single-entry permit, and you can enter the country once on this visa through one of the border crossing points recognising electronic visas.
