New Zealand eTA

New Zealand eVisa Types

There is only one eTA type to New Zealand issued for tourist purposes. eTA functions as a multiple-entry visa, which means that it can be used for more than one visit to the country.

With eTA, visitors can stay in New Zealand for up to three (3) months during each visit.
*UK citizens are allowed to stay in New Zealand even up to 6 months each time!

Once approved, the eTA to New Zealand stays valid for two (2) years.
It’s extremely important to provide a passport that will be valid for at least 3 months from the date of your intended departure from New Zealand.

Eligible travellers don’t need much when applying for an eTA to New Zealand. The necessary things to start your application include:

  1. A valid email address: A personal email address which you have constant access to. This is where your eTA to New Zealand will be delivered once approved. The same email will also be used to make communications about your application status.
  2. A valid means of payment. Having a valid means of payment is necessary. This will be used to cover the New Zealand eTA fee. You can use any acceptable means of payment, e.g., a valid debit / credit card.

Application Form and Required Documents

To apply, eligible travellers need to fill an application form online.
The process is very simple, and you just have to go through a few simple steps.
Generally, the application process for a New Zealand eVisa consist of three (3) basic stages, which are:

  1. Filling the application form online: With your valid passport ready and other requirements, simply click on the apply button on this page to start the application process. Enter the needed information for your eVisa application such as your name, email address, nationality, reason for travel and date of birth, etc. Please don’t fill this online form in a hurry. Ensure that each detail provided is correct and accurate! This will speed up the approval of your eVisa application.
  2. Covering the eVisa fees: Having provided the necessary information, ensure that you can use a valid means of payment to pay the eVisa fee. After the payment has been correctly registered, a confirmation mail will be sent to your email address.
  3. Receiving your New Zealand eVisa in your inbox:Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by e-visa experts. If there are no errors, your application should be approved. Your eTA to New Zealand will arrive in your email as a PDF file.

After the payment has been registered, you will receive a message in your mail containing the confirmation number. Once your application has been successfully reviewed and approved, email containing your eVisa will be sent to your inbox. eVisa to Myanmar is sent as a PDF file.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Getting the requirements ready before applying for a visa to New Zealand is a wise idea because it helps save time. Prepare the following:

  • A valid passport: It should have at least three (3) months validity period starting from the date you planned to leave New Zealand.
  • Your face photograph: You will have to upload a picture clearly showing your face. This photo can be taken using your smartphone, laptop, PC, iPad, or any other smart device.

    Upon your arrival to New Zealand, these are the documents you have to show the immigration officers for verification:

  • An approved New Zealand eVisa: You should print your approved eVisa and take it along with you to New Zealand.
  • A valid passport: immediately you arrive in New Zealand, you will be asked to present a valid passport. Additionally, it must be the same passport you used when applying for the New Zealand eVisa.

  • When applying, ensure that you use a valid passport that will remain valid for at least three (3) months from the date you planned to leave New Zealand
  • You can also apply for an eTA to New Zealand if you are visiting the country for business purposes, but please be aware that eTA cannot be used as an alternative to a work permit.
  • eTA can be also used for transit through New Zealand. What this means is that you can stop at New Zealand and then take another flight to another country you planned visiting.
  • For higher success rate and faster approval, ensure that you complete your application online at least three (3) business days before your trip.
