Qatar eVisa types

Qatar eVisa Types

There are four different types of Qatar eVisa which you can choose from, depending on your reason for visiting this Middle East nation.
Eligible travellers can apply for:

  1. Online tourist visa: Designed for eligible travellers who are visiting Qatar for tourist purposes. With this entry permit, visitors can stay up to 30 days in Qatar. Travellers who aren’t eligible for the Qatar ETA permit are advised to apply for this online tourist visa to Qatar.
  2. Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) Permit: Serving as a single-entry permit, its holder can stay in Qatar for 30 days. Luckily, it’s possible to extend this online visa for an extra 30 days (one month). This visa type is created for those who have a valid residence permit from any of the Schengen area countries, Australia, Canada, USA or New Zealand.
  3. GCC Residents Visa:This is a special visa type that allows only legal residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to apply for it.

    It is a single-entry permit that gives holders the authorization to stay in Qatar for 30 days. It can be extended for an extra three (3) months.

  4. Transit visa:This Qatar eVisa type is specially created for those eligible travellers who are visiting a different country but have to stop at Qatar to board another flight to their final destination. Choose this eVisa type, if you need to stay in Qatar for more than 5 hours. Transit visa is valid for 96 hours (4 days).

Validity

The validity period depends on the Qatar eVisa type you select:

  1. Online tourist visa:This Qatar entry-permit has a 30-day validity period which begins from the day you land in Qatar.
  2. Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) Permit:Just like the tourist permit, this online visa to Qatar has a 30-day validity period.
  3. GCC Residents Visa: It also has a 30-day validity period.
  4. Transit visa: This is the only eVisa to Qatar that has a shorter validity period. With a transit visa, eligible travellers can stay in Qatar for at most four (4) days.

Serving as single-entry permits, all the electronic visas to Qatar, except the transit visa, allow you to stay for up to 30 days in the country.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Online tourist visa: When applying for this Qatar eVisa type, you should have:
    • Bio-data page from your valid passport (scan or photo)
    • Your face photograph
    • A picture of your return ticket (copy)
  2. Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) Permit: If you choose this visa type, then prepare:
    • A copy of your booked accommodation in Qatar (or the address of your host).
    • A copy of your return/onward ticket
    • A copy of the bio-data data page of your passport.
    • A copy of your residence permit (or a visit visa) in any of the listed countries
  3. GCC Residents Visa: Residents of the Gulf Corporation Countries (GCC) should apply for a Qatar eVisa with documents that show their occupation.

  • Your passport is necessary to be valid for a minimum period of six (6) months starting from the date you planned entering Qatar.
