UAE Visa Types

When visiting the UAE for different purposes, you should know that there is only one type of e-visa that is designed for short term stay in the country and can be used only for tourism-related activities.

UAE eVisa can be used for:

  • visiting the country for vacation
  • visiting friends or family members in the UAE
  • entering the UAE as tourists and staying for a maximum of 30 days

    • TRANSIT:

  • If you are travelling to another country but have to stop at the UAE to take an onward flight to your destination, you don’t have to apply for a separate eVisa. Simply obtain a tourist e-Visa and indicate the purpose of your visit. With a tourist eVisa, you can make a transit stop for up to 96 hours (about 4 days) in the UAE.

There are different types of visas you can apply for to visit Uganda. As you plan your trip, it is always a great idea to choose a visa type that accurately fits your purpose of travelling. The Ugandan visa types are designed based on your purpose of visit and the number of days you wish to stay.

  1. Single-entry visa With a single-entry visa, you can stay in the country within a 90 days time frame. This option is suitable if you visit the country as a tourist or for business and medical needs.
  2. Multiple-entry East Africa eVisa Choosing a multiple-entry visa type is similar to the single entry visa in terms of visit duration which is 90 days. However, the multiple-entry visa, also called (East Africa Online Visa) can be used to visit some neighbouring countries like Kenya and Rwanda. It also allows for multiple visits within the validity period.
  3. Transit eVisa Are you travelling to another country but need to stop in Uganda to take another flight? If that is the case, a Ugandan transit visa is what you need. Transit eVisa is designed for transit only, and it functions as a 7-days short stay permit in Uganda.

eVisa to the UAE Validity

A tourist eVisa to the UAE functions as a single-entry permit that remains valid for 2 months from the issuance date. A single stay cannot, however, exceed 30 days, but an e-visa can be prolonged twice by 30 extra days, which in practice means that your maximum stay can be even up to 90 days.
Please remember that prolonging the validity period of your electronic visa entails additional costs.

Requirements

To apply for eVisa to the UAE online, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Be eligible for e-Visa: before starting your online application, you should choose if your nationality was placed on the list of eligible countries; if your country isn’t on the list, it means that you need to apply for a traditional visa at the Embassy.
  • Have a working device with Internet access: make sure you can fill the online form using an electronic device you have at hand and which is connected to the internet.
  • Be an active user of e-mail address: the online form requires providing an email address to which you will receive a PDf file with the approved e-Visa. Enter the address of which you are an active user so that you can download it without any problem

    • TRANSIT REQUIREMENTS

  • a document serving as proof that you have booked hotel accommodation
  • a difference between your 2 flights you are taking should be more than 8 hours
  • while on transit, you shouldn’t stay more than the required time in the country and must continue your journey to the next destination you booked.

    • These transit requirements don’t apply to the citizens of the following countries: Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen, Niger.

    • code confirming a booked flight to the UAE

  • a printed version of a valid tourist e-Visa
  • a passport valid for at least half a year from the date of your entry to the UAE

  • a proof of health insurance
  • quarantine form

    • It is important to note that eVisa to the United Arab Emirates serves as a tourist visa only. If your purpose of travelling to the UAE is related to work or any other reasons, then you must visit an embassy or consulate to arrange a traditional visa.
    • With eVisa, visitors aren’t allowed to take part in any form of labour or work activities on the territory of the UAE.
    • Don’t forget that you should have your valid passport before applying for the UAE eVisa online. Your passport cannot expire for at least 6 months. In addition, this passport should be valid throughout your entire stay in the UAE.
    • If you are on an international flight and have to pass through the UAE, then you are allowed to stay within the country for up to about 96 hours.
