Holders of a certificate of identity with photograph (exceptional cases only) Passport valid for 6 months beyond the date of departure from Samoa required by all.
Passports must be valid 3 months beyond length of stay
A passport and an onward/return ticket are required for travel to Samoa. Visas are not required for a stay of up to 30 days. There is a $10.00 (USD) departure tax that all visitors are required to pay upon departure from the country.
In an effort to prevent international child abduction, many governments have initiated procedures at entry/exit points. These often include requiring documentary evidence of relationship and permission for the child's travel from the parent(s) or legal guardian not present. Having such documentation on hand, even if not required, may facilitate entry/departure.
Cabinet has approved the inclusion in the First Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2003/2004, of finances amounting to ST$170,000 for the purchase of ten thousand (10,000) Samoa Passports. The limited supply of Passports has been due in part to amendments to passport administration, including the prohibition on children over six years of age from being included in their parents/guardians Passports.
